Pro-Life Ministry

40 Days for Life

Thank you to everyone who helped pray in front of the Champaign Planned Parenthood during the spring 2011 "40 Days for Life."

St. Patrick Parish committed to praying in front of the Champaign Planned Parenthood on Thursday afternoons this past March and April.  We will commit to another day (perhaps on the weekend so more people can attend) in the fall at the next 40 Days for Life prayer vigil.

For more information visit www.40daysforlife.com/champaign or contact Christine Schwenk at schwenkchristine@stpatstolono.org. There is a "Statement of Peace" that they ask us to agree to as well.

This may take some people out of their "comfort zone," but if you come at that time there will be at least two other people praying there. If you are unable to make it, please pray at home or consider offering up some sacrifices for this cause. Thank you.

More about 40 Days for Life

During each "40 Days for Life" prayer vigil, our community will be one of hundreds of cities in all 50 states and several other countries joining together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history.

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

  • 40 days of prayer and fasting
  • 40 days of peaceful vigil
  • 40 days of community outreach

We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our area -- and throughout America.

A "40 Days for Life" prayer vigil in Texas was key in the conversion of the Planned Parenthood Director who wrote her story in the book "Unplanned" which is available in the back of church.
